Got compression? Zensah leg sleeves
November 18th, 2009 by varsitysports No comments »
Check out Bud's massive calf in the Zensah leg sleeves.
Anyone try the Zensah compression leg sleeves? These are great, non-medical leg sleeves. Medical compression is 30+mmHg of compression and has been shown to have diminishing returns for athletes. So Zensah are 15mmHg of compression at the top of the calf and 25mmHg of compression down at the ankle so it actually funnels blood back towards the heart to speed recovery. And they have been successful at reducing the effects of shin splints and muscle fatigue due to muscle vibration from your foot hitting the ground. The Varsity Mandeville gang that just completed the New York City Marathon used them after all their long runs and absolutely felt a difference in their recovery.
So even if you don’t understand the physiology behind the sleeves, know that they work.
