We are all doing tempo runs. Tempo runs build both strength and endurance. They are typically slower than goal race pace for a longer portion of the run than short/medium length intervals.
5K – walk/jog to Goodwood Park. Walk or jog one lap. Walk or jog another lap faster. Back to Brew Ha Ha.
4 Mile Tempo – easy run the first 2 Miles. Try to make a point to pick up the pace for the final 2 Miles. Tempo 2 Mile would be goal half pace plus 20-30 seconds.
9 Mile Tempo – this is a 2 looper. Run the first loop at a steady pace. Water break. Run the second loop at least 40 seconds faster than the first one.
