Half Miles – Yasso Style
There is an 80% chance of rain so Chad at Bumsteers was happy for us to meet under the cover there, again.
Nothing says Half Mile repeats on the lakes like some bad weather. And we are gradually building our intervals starting a few weeks ago with 220’s, then 440s, now 880s.
Warm up through Hillsdale to our typical start on Lakeshore at the light pole. I’ll put cones out.
4 x 880/Half Mile with a jog back a quarter for recovery. Basically the same way as we do the December Yassos. But the recovery is not a specific time like the Yasso workout – start the next interval as soon as you have jogged back the 1/4 mile.
The pace needs to be 5K goal pace or quicker. If you want to run a 5K at 6:00 minute pace then your half miles need to be quicker than 3:00. If it’s 8:00 minute goal then quicker than 4:00, etc. etc.
After the last 880 finish around the lakes to Ferndale and in.
Stick around for a beer and burger if you aren’t too wet.
