5 and 10 Mile Tempo and Juliet Birthday Run

5 Miles with Tempo work – warm up a mile in the shady Garden District/Cherokee. Tempo work for 1 mile from Mile-2. We are just finding our “tempo” paces but it should be a little slower than goal half marathon pace at this point in training.

Follow the lakes to where Ferndale hits Lakeshore.  U TURN. This would be good place to leave water/electrolyte.

Easy run until the last mile which is about at May Street Park.  It’s a good habit to be able to finish strong so run tempo from Mile 4 to the end.

10 Miles with Tempo work – warm up a mile in the shady Garden District/Cherokee. Tempo work for 3 Miles from Mile 1-4. We are just finding our “tempo” paces but it should be a little slower than goal half marathon pace at this point in training.

Water/electrolyte break at BR Beach. Leave your stuff out there.

Easy run until the end. It’s a good habit to be able to finish strong so run tempo from Mile 8 to the end. Make this a little up-tempo meaning a little faster pace than 3 mile tempo earlier.

If you need a second stop the Indian Mounds might be it.
