Louie’s Purple and Gold Tailgate Run
3322 Lake St.
Louie’s wants to host our LSU season kickoff run. With no tailgating on campus – access and parking should be fine. Plan on a sticking around for a discounted Runner Breakfast
From Jimmy Weatherford, Louie’s owner; ” 10% “Runners discount” to those that want to stay and eat. I’ll also have pitchers of ice water outside under the tent”
Wear your purple and gold or other college colors…just not Mississippi State,
5 Mile Campus run with Mile 3-5 at a goal MARATHON PACE(which is probably about 30 seconds a mile slower than Half Marathon Pace)
10 Mile Campus Run with Mile 2-5 and 7-10 at goal MARATHON PACE(which is probably about 30 seconds a mile slower that Half Marathon Pace) – *doesn’t need to be as fast as last week’s Tempo Runs.
Love them or hate them – we are doing a 2 looper. It will be fun to stay on campus for the Tailgate Run and easy to leave water/electrolyte at the halfway mark.
With the anticipated LSU Campus Tailgate Restrictions, I check with the Athletic Department and Campus Police and after a few back and forths got this response:
“Just got off a conference call. No issues from PD, Jenni the only streets that will have vehicle traffic control in place at that time will be the campus roadways between Highland and Nicholson. I know you all are very experienced with running in this area but just wanted to note that all other roads will be uncontrolled and open to all normal vehicle traffic.”
