Sharpen and Taper Cutdown Quarters

Sharpening means to start feel fast and fit…even in half/marathon season. A runner doesn’t need to overload the miles at this point – just make sure the ones early week have some snap to them.
Around the circle – 6 x 1/4 with the short recovery. Cutdown the time for each quarter. Start the first quarter reasonably – goal half pace is fine. Then embrace the feeling of getting quicker each quarter.
Cool down- whatever you feel you need.
** after Louisiana Marathon weekend we shift to recovery then shorter fun runs and workouts. I would encourage everyone to look at joining V Challenge for the opportunities for core and strength training.
ALSO – I mentioned that I noticed many of you going out to beat the dark. After this weekend through March 13(Daylight Savings Time) we’ll post a 4:45 start of the same workout as 5:30. There will be some special events that can typically be enjoyed by starting at the regular 5:30.
