Marathon Training Saturday Schedule 2020
2020 MARATHON SATURDAY SCHEDULE
September 12 – 8 miles with 2 x 1 mile at goal HALF marathon pace
Sept. 19 – 10 miles with tempo work
September 26 – 10 miles with 2 x 3 miles at marathon pace
October 3- 12 miles with last 6 as a “cutdown
Oct. 10 – 13 steady or RACE NORTHSHORE 10K ON 10/11 – but try to get in at least 10 miles that day
Oct. 17–10 miles easy
Oct. 24- 15 miles with tempo/pick up Miles 8-12 with easy last few miles.
Oct 31 – 8 miles with 2 x 2 Miles through BR Beach hills
November 7 – 12 Miles with “stuff” – Variable pacing workout
Nov. 14 – 14 miles steady
Nov. 21– 17 miles with SJA 10K incorporated as strength run
Nov. 28– 10 miles including long ladder workout
December 5 –20 miles including BR Beach Half Marathon run through as a strength run
Dec. 12 – 10 miles with Yasso 880 workout
Dec. 19 – Long, easy 20-22 miler with focus on EASY. Time on your feet burning glycogen is what we are looking for.
Dec 26– 18 miles with 3 miles at goal marathon pace from mile 15-18.
Jan. 2 – 10 miles at Wilderness 10 mile in Star Hill, LA(may want to include a easy 2 mile warmup to make 12 Miles)
Jan. 9- 6-8 miles
Jan 17 – Louisiana Marathon
